Abstract
This academic paper discusses the history of Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World because of its stunningly beautiful architecture. Taj Mahal is still a symbol of architectural beauty. Taj Mahal has a long history which dates back to the era of mughals when the Muslims ruled in India. Taj Mahal is a symbol of love where it portrays the true love of the great Mughal Shah Jehan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The author of the academic paper throws some light on the importance of this beautifully crafted edifice in today’s world.

Taj Mahal is also known as the “Crown Palace” (Peswani, 1998). Built in the 16th century by one of the greatest mughals of India, Shah Jehan, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal stands along the banks of river Yumuna in the city of Agra. People from all over the world visit Agra every year to witness this beautifully crafted marvel of the world. Sir Admin Arnold once said about Taj Mahal “Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor’s love wrought in living stones”, (Peswani, 1998).
