Abstract
This term paper examines the issues related to teenage sexuality and the need to educate them to adapt safe sex practices and avoid irresponsible sexual behavior. Premarital sex and teen pregnancies are not uncommon to the society. This is mainly due to lack of awareness of appropriate sexual behavior among the teens. The author of the term paper also discusses that how sexually transmitted diseases can be prevented among the teens if given proper knowledge about the use of contraceptives.
From the Paper
There was a time in the United States of America when a sexually active female was labeled as a slut or loose. There was a time when teenage pregnancies out of wedlock used to result in the expulsion of female students from the high school (Germain, 2009). In the modern days the society has come to a point where teenage sexuality is regarded as something very normal. It is no more a shame to have an illegitimate child out of wedlock. With these issues involving increased inappropriate sexual behavior among the teens the question is how to educate the teens about sex. Some parents oppose the idea citing that sex education can only make the young teens more aware about sex than they need to which in result can only increase sexual activity.
