1,500 Words (Approx. 5.5 Pages), 5 Sources, MLA, 2005
This term paper defines and explains racial profiling among the law enforcement officials. Racial profiling is very common in the United States especially against the blacks. No matter who has committed the crime the suspicion is always on African Americans due to their criminal involvement in drug dealings, rapes, murders and theft. Racial profiling is not bound to the United States only it happens almost everywhere around the world where the main suspicion of law enforcers is on particular ethnic group or race. The author of the term paper discusses what can be done to prevent racial profiling.
From the Paper
Racial profiling refers to the practice of law enforcements to target a particular ethnic group in the society due to their color or race. In most of the cases involving racial profiling African Americans, Latin Americans and Asian Americans have been the victims. Most of the time an over speeding vehicle driven by an African American is stopped by the law enforcements to check it for drugs. After thoroughly checking the vehicle the law enforcers find nothing to put blame on the minority group. This practice is quite humiliating for the minorities as it is appropriate to only target a particular racial group living in the country.
