How to write an Introduction for your History Paper
The students who have picked up the history course in colleges, knows the experience of writing a history paper requires an edible knowledge on the selected topic. The students are often found working late nights with pale lights, just to complete their history papers. An introduction for any essays, articles or history papers requires grabbing the attention of the readers. If the reader is convinced by the introduction of your history paper, then he will surely read the whole paper. In a history paper, your thesis statement should serve the historical context of your arguments in the introductory paragraph. You refer to the following steps before writing the introduction for your history paper:
• Recognize the audience, you want to target. The introduction should be written with desired requirements of the audience in the mind. If you have selected the criteria of the audience then try to attract their interest in your introduction.
• Writing a catchy introduction helps you to have the interests of the readers and motivates them to go through the rest of the paper. The tone of your first introductory paragraph should introduce the audience to the topic of your history paper. A fact or a statistic would be preferable in the first sentence. Or if you want to, you can introduce by giving a quote or a phrase that explains the historical background of your paper.
• Try to increase five or more sentences in your introductory paragraph that could expand on the facts and statistics of your evidence. Make your history paper argumentative on your evidence to the research of the topic. These sentences can lead the thesis to the reader which will further connect him with the main body of your history paper.
• Development of the thesis in your paper should express the specific idea of the chosen topic. The thesis statements can be the bridge of your final sentence in the introductory paragraph and the connection to the main body of your history paper.
